What a weekend!

I had so much fun at Emily and David's wedding!  They are both so laid back, and the bridal party was fun...especially the girls! ;)  You can just yell out certain terms, and they will all erupt in laughter.  It was hilarious! 

I will have lots of sneak peeks over the next few weeks, but I have to start with the shot that speaks to me the most.  Emily and David asked me to stop at a special location right after the ceremony.  It was at this tree at a certain park.   Here is what Emily had to say about this spot and this tree.

"When David and I first started dating we would meet up there. I would do homework, and David would kick around a soccer ball and would eventually help me with my homework, if I complained enough. It was a bunch of low key events that happened there, but ones that really started the foundation of our relationship." 

This, for me, is that shot that would hang in my house for the rest of my life.

Let me just tell you...there are magical shots from the day...absolutely magical.  I can't wait to share more.

Before the big wedding weekend, the bride's niece was in my studio.  I love that! I love family connections.  Sweet Kayleigh has been a frequent visitor to the studio since she was born, and  her brother, Noah, before that. :)  Kayleigh was WAY into this shoot and loved her cake.

Corinne was in the studio last week also.  She was the lady of many great expressions.  It was such an easy shoot!  Maybe it's a girl thing?  She's just a little older than Jake, but she was so much more cooperative.  I overwhelmed her mom with way too many great shots.

She brought her special teddy.  His name is Teddy.  I had a special teddy named Teddy when I was little, too.  I even got him out to show her!

Jake was busy enjoying the springtime  weather last week.  

My poor little tree...I don't know how much more it can take! ;)

Everyone gives my husband all the credit, but I think this guy looks a little like mommy at the same age.

Jake has the most expressive eyes.

The letter of the week at school is V.  I guess he really likes it.  

My kids decided to play a little April Fool's joke on us right before bed last night.  They locked themselves in Kate's bedroom to plan.  Dan overheard Kate saying, "You can't do that, Jake!"  I'm so glad she is the oldest and not Jake!  Apparently his plan involved mustard and would require lots of cleaning by me.  They really surprised me when they came out of the bedroom. Jake was wearing a scarf, and Kate put blush, eye shadow, and lipstick on him!  I am kicking myself for not taking out my camera and just relying on my phone.  Poo.  Here it is...red eye and all.

The look on Catherine's face above just cracks me up.  She's like...what did I get myself into?

I finally got my nephew, Ben, in the studio!  The poor guy had a black eye...then he was sick.  We are a little late, but they are great!  We are doing outside shots soon, too.  

Miss Kayleigh came to the studio for her birthday shoot, too.  Let me tell you...she knew exactly what to do.

Historic Day...

We got a foot of snow today...a spring snow storm!  We've had spring storms before, but we haven't had one this big.  In fact...we've lived in this house for almost 20 years, and this is the biggest storm we've seen here.  I didn't get a final image because it's been coming down all day...for 12 hours +!  It isn't over.  I am sitting here listening to the news, and they are saying we will get another 1 or 2 inches overnight!  I do love this image I got earlier on my iPhone today.

Yesterday we took Jake to the circus.  I snapped this one on the iPhone.



Did you notice anything about my little man?  See the gap?  He pulled out his first loose tooth.

I picked him up from school on Friday, and he had his tooth in a bag.

I'm so glad I got him in the studio when I did.   I'm a little sad to see the baby teeth go. Boo.

He was so funny in the studio.  I get amazing shots of him, but he makes me work harder than any other little person I photograph!  Here are some outtakes for your entertainment.

Here are some of my favorites.

Jake and I did a little cupcake baking this past week.  The leprechaun left a mix on St. Pat's Day, and Jake was pretty excited about that treat.  He asked every day until I finally agreed to bake them. 

To those folks who got a cupcake delivery from us...no worries.  I did not let him put his finger back in once he licked it. ;)

I also decided to make some sunflower seed butter cups for Kate.  She mentioned how much she missed Reese's since her peanut allergy diagnosis.  I got this recipe from Pinterest.  I won't share it here, because they were disgusting.  Ha!  They were WAY too sweet, and we weren't thrilled about the sunflower seed butter taste.  Don't get me wrong...we love sunflower seed butter.  I like it better than peanut butter and eat it on crackers all the time.  It just didn't work with this recipe.

It involved butter, too...and Crisco.  Blech.  Don't bother. 

I just love this bunny that Jake brought home from school!

In addition to Jake,  I had another little friend in the studio last week, too.  Sweet Kaitlyn came over for her 1 year old pictures.  Once we got warmed up, Kaitlyn gave me lots of sweet smiles!  She loved bubbles!  My new bubble machine worked perfectly. ;)

The studio was a busy place for some pretty grown up people, too!  My niece and nephew came by for some shots.  I hope to get their younger brother and sister here soon, too!  They were on a fishing trip with my brother and dad.  Here are just a few of the many that I love.

I had some other little friends here late in the week.  I need to refill the bubbles! ;)

We are on spring break this week and now most of the area schools have a snow day.  It should be a very busy sledding day at our favorite spot tomorrow!
